1. Wow, I haven’t blogged in awhile! I would try to come up with an excuse, but I can’t think of any particular reason. I guess I’m just busy with a bunch of little things.
2. I ended up skipping El Scorcho because of foot pain. That was a smart decision on my part, because I think it’s finally now at the end of the recovery stage. I have been doing lots of cardio and weights and I have been staying away from the running.
3. Hopefully my foot and shin will be fully recovered by the end of the month, and then maybe I can take the plunge and sign up for the Las Vegas Marathon. At this point, I’m starting to get a little worried that signing up for a running event jinxes me with an injury!
4. I also have the Cowtown Ultra in the back of my mind. Shhhh… don’t tell my feet!
5. After a low of 150, my weight has crept up to the high-150’s/low-160’s. EEK! So I have decided to kick it into gear this week. I’m trying to workout for at least 2 hours a day (4 for 4 so far this week!), and my goal is to hit 15 hours for the whole week. I’m not drinking, and my diet has been really good. Hopefully I can get a little momentum going and lose this extra weight before the honeymoon. I’m hoping to get back down to 155 (I’m at 158.5 now) by the end of the week, and then I’ll have 5 more pounds to lose. This is a good week to get after it since Cliff will be in Oklahoma and I will be at home by myself (where it’s much easier to eat healthy and refrain from consuming any alcohol calories).
6. For the past month or so, I have been saying that I am going to try Bikram Yoga. This Saturday I WILL WILL WILL do it. Stacy and I have a date at 10 am! It’s a 90-minute yoga session in a sweat box, so it should be interesting. I don’t deal well with heat or anything requiring flexibility!
7. Another thing I am curious about trying is Nightclub Dance, an hour-long cardio workout at 7:30 pm on Friday night at 24 Hour Fitness. I am pretty exhausted so far with this week’s workout routine. I will have to see how I feel on Friday, but that would be pretty ballsy of me. I’m sure it would make for a great blog entry!
8. Also up on the weekend agenda is a puppy pool party! Cliff, Leslie, and I had so much fun with Gus jumping in the pool (from the first step) yesterday. He loves swimming so much that we pretty much had to pick him up to get him out of the pool. He kept jumping in, swimming around in circles, returning to the first step, and repeating. So entertaining! Gus wanted me to invite some of his human and puppy friends over on Saturday, so of course I am obliging.
9. Friday is my last day of coaching my kids at Water Works 2. I can’t believe how fast two years flew by. I will be sticking around part-time when they need a substitute coach. Once the kids start training at TCC (near my house), I will be coaching Brian’s group (the older kids) from 4:30-6:00 on Mondays. One day a week sounds perfect.
10. My plan was to take an accounting class or two at UTA in the Fall, but I haven’t heard anything since I applied for readmission quite some time ago. I think I need 6 more hours of graduate accounting to teach at TCC or Wesleyan, but I might try to bypass that and go ahead and apply for TCC. So I hope to get on the ball this weekend and update my resume. It looks like I’ll have more free time in the Fall since I can’t really start school or teaching with our honeymoon scheduled for August 30 – September 6.
11. I’m getting my hair cut and highlighted today at 5:30. I’ve let my hair grow out for all of the wedding stuff, and I am ready to take a good chunk off. It gets tangled so easily. I’m not sure if I need more highlights since I got them done 3 months ago, and they still look okay. But I definitely want a haircut. I’m thinking shoulder-length with some layers.
12. Current TV Schedule: Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen, and More to Love (saw the rerun of the first episode on Monday… hopefully they continue doing that since it’s on against Big Brother on Tuesdays). Current Netflix Series: Eastbound and Down
13. Favorite Poolside Drinks: Bud Light Lime and Oak Leaf Chardonnay (in a box from Walmart, but don’t judge it until you’ve tried it!)
