Friday Morning Run
I had planned on doing a "long" run last weekend, but I was pretty limited since the cleanse made me feel like absolute death. Speaking of which, I lost 11 pounds in 5 days only to find almost all of it again. I ran 9 miles on Sunday with Stacy, 5 miles on Monday around my neighborhood, and 6 miles on Tuesday at lunch. Since we're leaving for Mexico tomorrow, I knew I needed to man up and get 18 miles done this morning. I tried to find a buddy through a Facebook status update yesterday, but no takers. I ate a great dinner last night (salmon, rice, beans, and steamed veggies), got to bed fairly early (and with no alcohol - quite an accomplishment considering my rationale that vacation started on Monday), and managed to get up at 4:05 this morning. I started the run from Downtown Fort Worth. I took Taylor to the Trinity and then ran along the Trinity to Hoffbrau. Then I went out in the neighborhoods around the Colonial and Overton Park area for about 7 miles. I made it back to the Trinity, ran out a bit further (about 1.5 miles, just past the Hulen bridge), and then headed back towards Downtown and took the Trinity to 7th Street. I stayed pretty consistent with about a 10:40 pace the whole way through, and the entire run took me 3 hours, 12 minutes, and 35 seconds. I just had one little bathroom stop at Panera, but other than that, I was on a mission. I treated myself to a pedicure today during my lunch break, and now my feet look much less gruesome. Back to work!
