After I finished working on Friday, I went for a short little run. I did a 1.75-mile loop in my neighborhood at 9:30 pace to test out my shin. It didn't hurt too much, just a little soreness. I think the massage on Thursday night really helped, but I have to be careful not to overdo it.
On Friday night we had a team gathering at Main Event for the Water Works 2 swim team kids. We did a round of bowling and then laser tag. I worked in a few games of ski ball, but I think I only scored 25,000 - nothing impressive. I bowled a whopping 62. I should stick to Wii Bowling where I can score over 200. It is funny how I start my ball towards the right side and it curves left the same way in Wii Bowling as it does in real bowling. Laser tag was fun. I thought I would suck, but I did a good job shooting people. I was first place on my team for player tags and second place overall for player tags, but apparently you score more points hitting the other team's base. My score (29,900) was nothing compared to Chandler's (he won the game with 136,850, and he's one of my 12 & under swimmers).
This morning I woke up pretty early and went to swim practice at Benbrook. I managed to get a speeding ticket (52 in a 40 on Highway 377) on my way there. Practice was 1 hour/2 miles, and it felt good to be back in the pool after 2 weeks. We had a Water Works 2 coaches meeting after practice, and then I was supposed to meet some Tricowtown folks at Texas Motor Speedway to ride. I was running late, and it's hard to get motivated when it's 40 degrees and windy outside. So I ended up going home, and I am going to hit the gym in the afternoon. Gus and I just went for a walk (where he pooped - woohoo), and he did a much better job compared to yesterday (when he wouldn't budge). He has a ton of energy this morning. Hopefully that means he'll calm down this afternoon/evening.
