2. I realize that after swimming masters with Chuck, my workouts tend to be symmetrical. Speaking of Chuck, swimming with a masters team is ten times better. I keep procrastinating on rejoining though, especially since I need to focus on running right now.
3. It grosses me out when big, old, fat men jump in the pool after sweating in the sauna or steam room. But for some reason it doesn’t gross me out to pee in the pool.
4. It feels good to be back in the groove after two weeks of bad eating and drinking habits. I’m a little surprised the scale hasn’t budged (I’m up about 6 pounds from my lowest pre-California trip weight), but it might be because I’m scarfing down a huge dinner. I might try brushing my teeth and putting my retainers on right after dinner so I resist my routine bag of microwave popcorn.

5. I’m also more consistent with my running (nearly daily), but I need to get some long runs done. My hip (or hip flexor?) is still bothering me. I probably need to get that looked at. I’m hoping to get some long runs in this weekend (maybe 15 on Saturday and 13 on Sunday?), but it’s supposed to be cold and rainy.
6. (In honor of #6) We’re finishing Season 6 of Lost, and we’re getting more confused by the second. How many alternate storylines can there be? Yikes. Maybe it will all make sense at the end… but probably not.

7. We switched over to the “streaming only” option on Netflix since the price of three discs a month increased in 2011, but we are pretty unhappy with the selection. The majority of the shows we select are available on DVD only. I think we’re going to give Blockbuster a try. I like that you can exchange a DVD in the store five times a month.
8. Now that the holidays have come and gone, we have a huge stack of Christmas cards sitting on the counter. Do most people throw those away? It makes me feel a bit guilty, but I don’t want to be a hoarder.

9. I ran at lunch today with a friend of mine and I have been starting the Garmin before the satellite signal is fully acquired, and then I just multiply the second half distance by two to get the full distance (since we are on a work time crunch). I messed it up today, and I didn’t get any distance at all. So now (because I am completely OCD), I’ll have to run the same route again to get the exact mileage. Considering we ran our last two runs in a 9:23 average, I used that and worked backwards. But I still feel like something’s amiss. Fail.

10. I have an interview for a Director (supervisory) position (with HUD) next Thursday.
11. I got the phone call about the interview while I was teleworking in my PJs yesterday after taking a nap with my dogs during my lunch break.
12. Needless to say, it will be tough to make that decision… do I give up my plush job for a bigger challenge (and mo’ money)?
13. I can’t believe I went this long without a Sam’s Club membership. Not only that, but it’s the only place I can find Pop Chips!

I love the pool comment! Somehow, I feel the same way. :) Too funny! I usually buy my Pop Chips at Sprouts, but I feel like I've seen them somewhere else too... maybe Kroger?
I throw away the Christmas cards. Pictures too now unless they are family.
