Back on Track
After the marathon, I backed off training for 3 weeks. I still worked out, but I took some days off and didn't do long runs. It was fun to kick back and spend time with my family and friends. I think 6 miles was the furthest I ran during those three weeks. So I got back into the swing of things on Saturday, January 2 with a 12-mile run at 10-minute pace. I ran by myself and did the 9-mile loop around the Colonial, Overton Park, and Foster Park and then finished up on the Trinity Trail. I did yoga three days in a row (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday), and I also squeezed in a 5-mile run during my lunch break on Monday. I'm working on my diet and being consistent with my workouts, and I'm transitioning back to marathon training. I plan on running 15-16 miles on Saturday morning. The Ultra is coming up at the end of February!
