I had planned to swim with Sara this morning, so I wrote us a workout last night. I ended up swimming solo, and it definitely helped having a workout in front of me because it made me more accountable. I figured that after losing weight and working out quite a bit (doing things other than swimming), that my swimming would be okay. However, that is totally not the case. I'm planning on swimming at least a few times a week between now and zones (late March), and hopefully I won't stink it up too badly!
Today's swim workout:
400 freestyle, 300 pull, 200 kick with fins, 100 IM
8 x 50's freestyle @ 1:00
#1-4: descend stroke count
#5-8: breathe 7 (first 25) and 5 (second 25)
3 x 500's freestyle pull @ 1:00 rest
Times: 7:13, 7:12, 7:09
4 x 100's flutter kick w/ board @ 2:30
50 easy
6 x 75's @ 1:30
Odds - Fly/back/breast
Evens - Back/breast/free
200 warm-down
Total Yardage: 4,000 (short course) meters
I'm coaching the little kids (about 6-9 years old) tonight from 5:30-6:15, so it's going to be a long day. I'm going to workout from 4-5ish and then head over to Wesleyan. I won't be home until 7:00, but at least I will make it home in time for The Biggest Loser!
