Four Things Friday: Post-Gobble Edition

1. Really I just wanted to rejoice on Thanksgiving morning because I was FINALLY (after over a DECADE) under 150 pounds... the notorious Athena status. And to prove this was not some kind of fluke, I was actually 148.5 pounds on Thanksgiving morning and 148.0 pounds this morning. Apparently I didn't do nearly enough damage at the dinner table.

2. So now that my weight has steadily declined and I've put in a fantastic season of marathon training, I'm ready to go after my sub-4-hour goal at the Las Vegas Marathon. If my sinuses would just get on board with that idea, life would be fabulous. I went to the doctor's office on Tuesday and got a shot and some prescriptions (antibiotic, antihistamine/decongestant, and Nasonex), but this weather change just kicked my bootie. It was 83 on Wednesday and in the 20's with the wind chill on Thursday.

3. I was all set to go to Tulsa after Thanksgiving dinner in Ardmore. My bag was packed, the dog beds were washed and put in the car, and all of the dog supplies were bagged up. Then I came to the realization that I wasn't feeling any better (maybe even worse?), and I had to bail on my plans to see Melissa. Hopefully we can reschedule after the Vegas marathon. Plus I'll be more fun (in other words, more of a lush) then. I made a good decision though. I was blowing my nose throughout the trip to/from Ardmore. Plus my back started bothering me A LOT (not sure what was up with that).

4. I'm looking forward to a whole weekend of rest and recovery. I had a great tempo run on Wednesday evening (I was feeling better until the weather changed), and I have an easy 8-mile run this weekend. Woohoo - TAPER! I'm ready to lounge around on the couch and watch some college football (and hope for a good upset to boost the Frogs in the BCS rankings).
