The training plan called for an easy 6-mile run, a 7-mile tempo run (with the middle 5 miles at tempo), and a 16-mile run. I wanted to do some speed/track work, but my brood of dogs made things a bit more difficult.
Run #1 (Tuesday afternoon): 6.10 miles @ 9:26 (57:33); Downtown/Trinity Trail; An easy run was a nice break from my hectic day of selling food! I enjoyed being outside.
Run #2 (Wednesday evening): 4.15 miles @ 9:27 (39:13); Golf Club/Lake Country/Ironstone; Good hill workout. My back was a little sore, but it was a nice break to get outdoors (and out of the house).
Run #3 (Friday afternoon): 6.26 miles @ 9:36 (1:00:06); Downtown/Trinity Trail; Ran with a good friend during our lunch break.
Run #4 (Saturday afternoon): 4.20 miles @ 9:24 (39:30); Lake Country; It was a little hotter and I wasn't in the mood to run. Once I got out there, I felt okay. I just wanted to take it easy since my long run was the next morning.
Run #5 (Sunday morning): 16.10 miles @ 9:49 (2:37:55); Trinity Trail; This was speedier than last week's run. I wasn't as (sleepy) tired, but my legs were still pretty sore. I ran the first 6 miles with Dan and Christie and then did 10 miles with my iPod. I had two miles over 10:00 (mile 5 at 10:06 and mile 8 at 10:04). My fastest mile was the last mile split - 9:34.
Total Weekly Running Mileage: 36.81 miles
Other Workouts:
Walked Gus 3.88 miles
