Arrived in Chicago

Yikes, what a busy few days! I didn't workout at all this weekend since my schedule was pretty nuts. I arrived in Tulsa at around 5:30 on Friday. Melissa and I chatted and hungout for awhile before meeting her friends for dinner at Abuelo's.

Dinner was a lot of fun, and I'm glad we were able to show Melissa a good time because she definitely deserved it after everything she went through that week with her dad (who is doing much better, by the way!). We were originally planning on going out afterwards, but we finished dinner at 10ish and everyone was pretty tired and we called it a night. I got up fairly early on Saturday and drove back to Fort Worth.

Cliff and I grabbed some lunch at Applebee's and then worked on our registry at Lowe's. They don't have scanners there, so we manually wrote a list and then tried to upload everything to our online registry. NOT SO MUCH! Nothing was on their web site, and it was really frustrating. I called the store, and they said they can update it manually. So Cliff is going to have to take care of that tomorrow since I'm out of town and the couples shower invitations went out today. Our registry at Bed Bath and Beyond is pretty thorough, and I worked on the Macy's china and dinnerware tonight. I keep thinking of more and more stuff we need to add though! I feel so disorganized... like I'm just randomly adding stuff without much thought. I need a professional wedding planner who can do all of this for me and make all of the decisions.

We celebrated Cliff's birthday on Saturday night since he had lasik surgery on his actual birthday (Thursday). We went to Saltgrass for dinner. I splurged a little bit with the seafood fondeaux, and then I got the small filet with veggies. Afterwards we went to Dublin Square for drinks. We hadn't been there since we moved. It was crazy busy. Fortunately there were some stools right in front of the Photo Hunt machine by the band. So we got to rock out to some great music and play our dorky game.

I coached the BB Meet in Grapevine on Sunday. We only had two swimmers, and they both just had one event. So it was a relatively easy day of coaching for me! After the meet, Cliff's parents, aunt, uncle, and nephew came over and we visited for a bit. Once they left, I cooked some pretty tasty chicken pasta for dinner and finished my packing.

This morning I got up early and went to masters swim practice. The workout:

After practice I headed straight to the airport. Everything (the flight, taxi to the airport, check-in, walk to the federal building) went really smoothly. We discussed our presentation for a couple hours and called it a night. I went back to the hotel, did a quick workout (3-mile run, 6 minutes of arm weights) at the gym, and picked up a sandwich next door at Potbelly. The majority of my presentation is tomorrow, so I am going to do a little more preparation tonight and then get some sleep. I don't have to be there until 8:30 (that sounds so late), so I can get in a good workout in the morning. I am getting spoiled with the laptop!
