Finishing up in Chicago

I finally got antibiotic eye drops yesterday evening just before the pharmacy closed at 6:00. My eye is feeling a tiny bit better, but it is still bright red and pretty sensitive. I decided to get a glass of wine at Elephant & Castle next to my hotel. Well one glass of wine turned into three since Trena didn't finish her meetings until 7:00. I was planning on walking to her hotel until I realized it was further away than I thought, so I got a cab (good decision). We walked over to Giordano's which ended up being GREATNESS. We got a small deep-dish stuffed Hawaiian pizza. It didn't look like much, but it's crazy how rich and filling that pizza is. I'm used to California Pizza Kitchen and Papa John's! I can EAT and I only had 2 pieces. In a smart move, we didn't take the leftovers with us :) My inner fat girl would have eaten the leftover 3 pieces on the taxi ride home!

I had a lot of fun, and we ended up chatting until 11:00. Needless to say, I didn't workout today. I was planning on working out this evening, but I found out about Andrew, and then I was on the phone until after 9:00. At least I ate healthy today and stayed under my 1900 calories (which is hard to do in this city!). I am going to get up early tomorrow and workout before I head to the airport. I am excited to see my fiance and GUSGUS!

The trip went really well (minus the red eye). My part of the presentation on the Excel spreadsheet I created was a little too "advanced," but at least the organizers have some idea of where to go from here. For future trainings, they are probably going to recommend that participants have some sort of Excel training beforehand so they at least have the basic skills. I also got to meet my counterparts in the Chicago DEC (Departmental Enforcement Center), and I sat down with the Director today for a couple hours.

Off to bed. Long day.

I love Chicago, especially pizzas from Giordano's, Gino's East, and Lou Malnati's. I could eat pizza all week when I visit!
