I did a 12-mile run today with Sho, DJ, and Fitz. Shawna made it a near death experience :) We started off fast, and I knew I'd be hurting at the end (you can tell by my climbing HR). It was a GREAT run though. It went by fast talking to everyone and the weather was absolutely perfect. I felt good until about mile 8, but I haven't been running much these days, so I knew 12 miles would put the hurt on. We did 3 miles on the Trinity and then the 9-mile Colonial/Overton Park/Foster Park course.
Mile 1 - 9:14, 152 HR
Mile 2 - 9:16, 156 HR
Mile 3 - 9:39, 155 HR
Mile 4 - 9:24, 160 HR
Mile 5 - 9:10, 162 HR
Mile 6 - 9:43, 165 HR
Mile 7 - 10:11, 165 HR
Mile 8 - 9:52, 162 HR
Mile 9 - 9:39, 165 HR
Mile 10 - 9:34, 166 HR
Mile 11 - 9:41, 166 HR
Mile 12 - 9:42, 167 HR
Total Time: 1:55:10 (9:36/mile, 162 avg HR)
DJ told us he saw a big, fat Bulldog at the park close to the start/end of our run, so Shawna and I had to check it out. It turns out their is a Bulldog playdate group that meets once a month! I am so excited to bring GusGus out. There were about 8 Bulldogs there and they were so big and cute!!! Just don't try to play with their stick...
After our run, I went to the Ford dealership and Cliff bought his new F-150. We stopped at Chick-fil-A for lunch (their grilled chicken salad only has 170 calories - what a bargain!) and then looked at wedding clothes for the guys at JC Penny's. We finished up with a trip to Zales to get our wedding bands, and then Cliff picked up his NEW car!!! So it was a busy day. I'm ready to be lazy.
I worked from home on Friday and squeezed in a quick 45-minute workout on the elliptical machine before I met Cliff and Jordan for dinner at Macaroni Grill. We hadn't eaten there in awhile (we used to live really close by and we went there a ton), and I missed my Chicken Florentine salad! Mmmm.....
