Girl's Night Out & Interval Dreadmill Run

Well the cruddy weather yesterday inspired me to skip my trip to the gym and take a nap instead. I did 4 sets of 15 bicep curls, 25 push-ups, 15 tricep curls, 50 crunches... that was the extent of my hard work.

Last night we had a fun girl’s night out at Electric (aka “Tric” since only half of the sign lit up) Cowboy. Too bad it was a school night and we turned into pumpkins at midnight. There was a $5 cover, but the well drinks were only a quarter. So they were practically paying me to drink my rum ‘n diets. We only danced a bit (since it was mostly country and I have two left two-steppin’ feet) and ended up hanging out at a table, people-watching, and laughing. The great thing about that place is that I leave feeling so skinny and pretty. LOVE IT. Some PG photos...

Somehow with lots of drinks in my belly and only 4-5 hours of sleep, I felt pretty darn good this morning. I had a great workout on the dreadmill at lunch. I decided I need to start challenging myself a bit more instead of just running garbage miles. So I did a 50-minute run (5.33 miles):

5 minutes of warm-up @ 6.0 pace
40 minutes of intervals – 2:30 @ 7.0 (8:34) pace, 2:30 @ 6.0 pace
5 minutes of warm-down @ 6.0 pace

My face was bright red when I was done, and it felt like a very productive workout. I definitely need to incorporate some tempo and speed work in my routine… practicing running faster than 9:09 miles will make 9:09 miles seem much easier!
